The thirieth chapter of the Darwin's Game ~Flag Game~ novel.

Summary[]

Rein screamed as she and Shuka flew through the air since it was her first time flying, but then decided to be quiet since she could accidentally bite her tongue. Eventually, Shuka told Rein that she couldn't find Fuli and asked her where she thought he'd go. Rein answered that he was most likely heading toward the station, adding that she'd try to use the crowds if she was in his shoes, and Shuka headed in the direction specified.

After a short while, the two of them found a group of more than a hundred non players heading toward the station, causing Shuka to ask Rein where the enemy was. Using Laplace, Rein analyzed the 129 people in that group and spotted someone with two hearts and a brain split into three parts, pointing out his location to Shuka. Without responding, Shuka shot down a chain at Fuli.

Fuli attempted to remove the chain in his shoulder, however the chain wrapped around his neck and dragged him away from the group up into the sky, breaking his neck in the process. He was shocked, unable to understand how the Sunset Ravens were able to pinpoint his exact location, especially since he'd been perfectly blending in with the non players around him. Feeling the chains release him, he hurriedly fixed his neck and restored his vision and hearing, realizing that he was spinning. He couldn't stop himself because there was nothing to grab onto, causing him to decide to survey his surroundings instead, and he realized that he was more than 150 meters up in the air.

Fuli desperately tried to come up with something to prevent himself from falling and hitting the ground. He thought of transforming his arms into wings, but just as he was about to concentrate, he was attacked by Shuka, who used her wire anchors to destroy Fuli's nerve ganglia in his chest. He managed to restart his consciousness using the remaining part of his brain, which was located in his stomach, but saw that Shuka was right in front of him. He unconsciously transformed into Shuka's father's appearance as if to beg for mercy, though it was no use as he saw Rein tell Shuka the location of the last part of Fuli's brain. Shuka thanked Fuli for allowing her to see her father's face one last time, smiled, and told him that she could now kill him with confidence.

Shuka shot her chain into Fuli's stomach, causing him to lose consciousness and revert back to his original form. He managed to regain consciousness one last time moments before hitting the ground, his mind bringing back memories of the past, and he hit the ground right when he was about to recall his name.
